Hey Jim--Okay, so I've been working on my second translation assignment and I was just wondering if you could tell me why, when I view source (when viewing the assignement from the link on my page) some of the comments show up in green, italicized font, while the majority of them look like regular black font. After I noticed it the first time, I went back to try and make them all appear green and italicized (because it makes it easier to view my comments) but I couldn't figure out how to make that happen consistently. Any ideas? Does it matter? Thanks for your help! Jaci, 3/25/06

Ok- I know that we went over this forever last night and I'm sorry to be redundant, but this morning I tried to work on my page from a PC and I can't get the file to do a double screen. I clicked on the little icon and view isn't even a choice. When I click on expand screen, it just makes the server bigger. I double and then triple checked the server information so it doesn't seem to be that. I thought I might just go ahead and work off the server, but you told us that they don't like that sort of thing. I'm a little annoyed with myself that I can't figure it out, but am looking for some help! Any ideas?? thanks, Sarah 2/2/06

I am trying to ftp using dreamweaver and I am being told that the server is down or not accepting files. Did I do something wrong in the login or should I try again later using the same settings? --Evelynne 09/27/05

Evelynne--have you had any luck with this since your e-mail? Did you try using the cheatsheet? If so and you're still having a problem, please e-mail me and I'll see what I can do.--jd

Can you post a cheat sheet for creating templates? Thanks much. -- Rebecca

Me again -- What's the diff between the layout table you create with a grid of cells versus the table I can create with a freehand and create cells inthin the table and resize them as I please? Can I do the latter when creating style sheets? -- Rebecca

What's the simplest HTML web page? -- Mikhail.

Hello this is my first web page.

Okay this has nothing to do with creating my own webpage...not yet anyway. However, I was just casually surfing on my blog (I like to fawn over beautiful things that I have created:-0) and saw a posting by this totally random person about home equity loans. And I thought, "Oh my god!", the next thing is going to be identity theft. Imagine I have my blog up barely a fortnight and someone is already "cyber marketing" me. Is there any way I could prevent people who are not in this course from posting on my blog? Best, Kadine

Kadine--I've noticed the spamming, as well. I'll check in to blogger.com and see whether there is a way to keep the spam off. Identity theft seems like another issue altogether, as I imagine that it would be very difficult to do given the very limited amount of information that one posts for blogger. I'll see if I can have more information by Saturday. --Jim

Okay--there's a word verification option on your blogging dashboard. Turn it on and people will need to confirm the word before a response can get posted. This should take care of the spams.--jd

Thank you Jim. It sure fixed the problem. Kadine

I just thought of another question. How can I change the color of the font, so that there is not just one black row of lines going on the page? I couldn't see any of that in the editing rule book. K

You need to turn on the html editing capability in blogger--jd

Actually, I was referring to the text in this section (questions and answers), but after reading your response, I put up my blog posting and realized that the font color was the original one (which I did not like very much). It turns out that when I was composing on the blog the first time (after the readings last week), I was doing so on a PC (wow!) and I just right clicked and got the font option at my fingertips so to speak. Now I am on a mac and can't find out how to change the color again. Argh, I feel so crippled!

Well, try coding the text like this. :-) --jd

Jim, when I downloaded Norman's chapter 6, there were some missing parts, page 142-177. And you put the chapter 7 on that. Is that right? Can I just read the parts that you uploaded? Best,-- Hyuksoon

Hi, no parts missing: the chapter page is there just to show you the name of the chapter. All of the pages that you need to read are up.--jd

HOW DO YOU TAKE FILES DOWN FROM MICROSOFT'S CLIP ART AND SAVE THEM AS JPG? THEN AGAIN, CAN YOU DO THAT?

Yes, you can--as I reacall, you just check the box for download and then complete the action. The clip art should show up in your clip art folder for Microsoft Office.--jd

Second resource about storyboarding doesn't work. And I need more explanation about flowchart. Thank you.-- Hyuksoon

I am working from a windows computer and I'm finding that I'm getting confused when looking at the mac descriptions. I tried to follow the directions to create a hyperlink, but when I look at my page, and click on it, there is an error. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Maria

Hi there,

I went onto my blog today and posted about the reading, but I am not seeing it posted on the blog when I click on the link from the wiki. I blogged about 3 hours ago and re-published the whole blog. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Sarah
